The Perfect Easter Card!

Well it's been a looooong time since I've blogged, but thought I'd update it and post a card I made the other day.  I actually made a couple of these which have now gone postal just in time for Easter!

I don't usually make or send Easter cards, but I thought this one would be fun to send to a couple of friends along with an actual chocolate bar that they can eat!

In making this card, I finally got to use a stamp set that retired a while ago that I only recently acquired - it's by Stampin' Up! and called Eat Chocolate!  I have no clue why I didn't buy it when it first came out, but I'm so glad I have it now!

Hope you like my card and I'll try not to leave it too long between posts next time! lol

An 80th Birthday Card!

Wow....I was doing so well there blogging every day for a week! lol  I'm back at work now after a 2 month break so things are getting busy again with the lead up to Christmas! I'm not sure how much time I'll get to craft and blog, so you'll have to bear with me and my sporadic posts!

Today I'm sharing with you an 80th Birthday card that I just finished making!  I used the catalogue for inspiration (cause I didn't have a clue where to start!) and just used some scrap DSP I had sitting on my desk!  I just love making cards where you can use up little bits of scraps that would otherwise end up in the bin!

Here's what I made, it's a very simple card really, but I was happy with how it turned out!

Incase some of you didn't know,  I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator here in Mackay.  If you're interested in ordering any of the fantastic products we have in our catalogue, please feel free to email me.  I don't have an online store for ordering, however I'm more than happy to place orders for you and have them delivered straight to your door no matter where you live in Australia! :)

Thanks for stopping by today - hope you like my card!

Happy Birthday Brock!

Well, today is my son's 13th Birthday!!  Lots of fun to be had here today, so I'm keeping this post short!

I have no idea where those years have gone, and while he almost drove me insane when he was a toddler, he has provided us with so much love, fun and laughter for all those years!
I'm so incredibly thankful that he was given to us, and I look forward to watching him grown into a wonderfully successful young adult!

Here's the card I made for him - I know he'll love it because I've used his favourite colour...RED!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY little mate - hope you have a fantastic day!

Curtain Call Challenge!

I use to play along with the Curtain Call Challenge all the time a few years back until the challenge site closed down for a little while....at least I think thats what happened!

Anyway it's back up and running (YAY!!!) and I thought I'd play along with the current challenge which ends very soon.

Here's the inspiration photo!

Who doesn't love a gorgeous happy sunflower right?  I loved the gorgeous rustic kinda colours in this pic - just beautiful!

Here's what I created based on that picture!

I didn't bother adding a sentiment to the card because I wanted the big ol' flower to be the centre of attention, which is certainly is wouldn't you agree! lol

Hope you like it, because I had fun making it for the challenge!  I'll link my entry up on the site when I wake in the morning because as this goes live....I'll be fast asleep! :)

Gumball Green!

Yesterday I told you about my cardmaking experience (or lack there of) with Gumball Green!

After I scheduled that post, my little pile of mess that I'd made trying to compose something half decent with that green was just staring at me on my desk, and I swear if it could talk it would have said...come on you know you wanna have another go!!!

Not being one that likes to admit defeat, I began pulling stuff apart, cutting other parts up, replacing DSP with another pattern and just generally trying to put together SOMETHING with this darn Gumball Green colour!!!

This is what transpired from that little exercise - a cute little card that measures 10cm x 10cm!

FINALLY my battle with this green is over!   Am I keen to use it again?  The answer to that my friends is NO NO and NO! lol

I hope you like my little card, and I inspire you to try using a colour that you aren't particularly fond in something that you create today!  If you happen to use Gumball Green - PLEASE leave me a comment so I can see your creation!

Fun With Owls!

Ok, so yesterday I spent pretty much all day working on one single card!!  I thought I'd be clever and challenge myself to use Gumball Green for a change, however I'm realising that I will never be friends with that colour....we just don't have anything in common! lol

I got up this morning, fresh as a daisy,  and thought I'd work on a kit I bought recently from the very clever Bronwyn over at addINKTIVE designs.  Have you seen the gorgeous little owl cards she makes by combining My Digital Studio with her Silhouette Cameo?  They are GORGEOUS!!

I admired them as soon as Bron started churning them out and blogging them, but sadly I'm not very clever with MDS and as much as I love my Cameo...I'm not so smart with that either! lol

Luckily Bron now offers these gorgeous little things in kit form, so you can just sit and create with all the work having been done for you OR if you're pretty clever on MDS and your Silhouette, she has a PDF tutorial you can buy showing you how to make them yourself!

Check this little cutie out?

And look at him with all his friends!

These little kits come highly recommended by me, and I  think they'd be a perfect little Christmas present for a crafty friend or relative!

I'm not afflilated with Bron in any way, I'm just a really happy customer who had fun putting these together and would love others to experience the same thing!

Limited Supplies!

I had an email from a lady asking if I could help her design a quick little card using some supplies she had bought recently!

She listed me a few items that she'd purchased, so I set about creating something for her that was both quick and easy for her to replicate using what she had!

I find with 'busy' papers, the thing that works for me is using small amounts of them - less is more don't they say! lol

I hope she likes it...cause I have to admit to loving that big flower!
