Alrighty have you got a cuppa? Let's hop to it!
You will need the following as per the photo above:Paper Trimmer, Crimper, Paper Snips, Black Gingham Ribbon (about 20cm), Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 way glue pen, a scrap of Whisper White Card stock, 2 small oval punch outs in Basic Black, 2 large Tag punch outs in Real Red, 1 x Basic Grey card stock piece measuring 1cm x 10cm (this is for your handle) 1 x piece of Basic Grey Card stock measuring 4cm x 7cm (this if for your actual basket) 1 x Word Window Punch out in Basic Black (this is for santa's belt) and lastly I used a piece of my silver hodge podge hardware for his belt buckle!
Not in the photo is double sided tape, but if you want your basket to actually hold a choccie or anything for that matter - you will need it! lol
Take your Basic Grey Card stock that measures 4cm x 7cm. On the 4cm side, score 1cm in from each side and along the 7cm side, score at 2.5cm and again at 4.5cm!
Now, with that piece in a landscape position, just snip in on both sides as indicated above! Firmly fold all your crease lines now so that your basket will fold up nicely for you!
Righto - now fold your basket up - it should look like this. Don't panic that there is a gap in the centre - that's totally ok - your choccie won't fall out I promise! lol I chose to staple mine together in the centre as you can see. Then I put strips of double sided tape up both sides, front and back!
Take your long piece of Basic Grey card stock measuring 1cm x 10cm and put it through your crimper. Now, set both your basket and the handle pieces aside for a sec, it's time to decorate the front of your basket before you put it together!
This part is really easy! That scrap bit of Whisper White you had hanging around - tear a piece off and stick it along the bottom of your tag punch out, trim any excess off. For the white bit vertically at the front, you need to tear it down both sides so it kinda looks 'fluffy'!
Stick your word window punch out along the centre, trim any excess off that as well, and pop a brad right in the centre! This is where you add the glitter along the "fluffy" bits of Santa's outfit. I haven't done it in the pic - just call me lazy! Nah, seriously - I knew you guys could apply glitter with the help of your two way glue pen without me showing you how!lol
Ok, now that you have decorated your front panel, it's time to grab your basket again, peel the tape off that you had put up both sides and stick your decorated tag to it! Please note here, that the tag needs to be positioned totally level with the bottom of the basket or it won't stand up for you!
Take your undecorated left over tag punch out and stick it to the other side in exactly the same way!
Time for your handle! Take the piece that you had previously put through your crimper and put double sided tape on either end and stick it into position as seen above.

Take your small oval punch outs and attach them to the base of the box with double sided tape. Ensure you have a bit of overhang so that you get the look of boots!
Tie a piece of gingham ribbon to the side of each handle.
Ho! Ho! Ho! You're finished! I made another cute one yesterday afternoon in the form of a little girls dress just to show you what potential they have! These little things are sooooooooo cute! lol
In case your interested, I made another lot of boxes a bit like this for my convention swaps this year, and for those I used the scallop punch. You can see a tutorial on those here.

I chose not to put my copyright signature over the images you see here, as I felt it would occupy to much of the photos, and I wanted them to be nice and clear for you see! To my knowledge, these baskets are my original idea, and while I am more than happy and extremely excited to share my creations with you all, please "be nice" when you create, and remember to link your work back to my blog, so people can see it in it's original form! Thanks so much!
Well, I really hope you are still awake (roflol) and that you found the tutorial easy enough to follow! Please leave me a comment if/when you give them a try - I would LOVE to see your take on them!

Thanks for this tutorial. I tried making the little santa box, but wanted to add more than one treat, so changed the dimensions to inches and it worked a treat and i used the CM tag maker as the santa front. I filled them with fudge and gave them to all the kids in my coffee group. thanks so much for the idea, they were so cute
