Almost Convention Time.............

Hey all!

Just a quick post to let you know that I'm off to the Stampin' Up! Convention in Canberra early on Thursday morning!

I'm super excited, my swaps are done and packed (how I'm going to get them on the plane as carry on luggage without someone squishing them is a whole other issue! lol) as is my suitcase! It's just the final checks tomorrow now and a bit of a quick shop for chocolate for the late night snacks and I'm ready to go!!

You are still able to place orders via email while I'm away, that's no problem at all, and I'll deal with any phone calls that need returning and place any orders on my return!

Can't wait to show you all what we got up to while we are away, we're going to have a ball!

So until Monday...................

ETA - I'll be easy to find at convention, just look out for the pink, sparkly BOUF badge I'll have attached to me! Keesh will be wearing one too!

You Take The Cake!

Here I am, up bright and early to photograph the card I made late yesterday! It's not the best photo ever, but hey, you'll get the gist! lol

I've use the 'Party Hearty' stamp set to make my card, and teamed it up with some of the Sweet Always DSP! I love this paper, the colours look nice enough to eat and certainly go with the cupcake image very well! YUM!

I've stamped the cupcake image once in Blush Blossom, and then again in choc chip! I then cut out just the choc chip cake icing and popped it up with some dimensionals over the 1st image! The candle is attached to the Choc Chip top and is up on dimensionals too!

It's really just a simple card, but so very pretty IRL!

Have a great day everyone!

Convention Swaps!

I can't believe that a week tomorrow I'll be on a plane bound for our Stampin' Up! Convention in Canberra! I'm just so excited to be meeting up with everyone, not to mention SWAPPING!! I just love the swapping part of convention, putting a face to names is just so exciting for me!

I've done 138 swaps now which I'm just stoked about! Last year I had 80 something and ran out.........so this year my aim was to do heaps more!

This year, I've tried to do things that are a little different, and to use a few sets which many may not have ordered! I'm really happy with them all, and I hope all you lovely girls I swap with, are equally as happy with which ever swap you get from me! I've even done some 3d items.............but only 10! lol

Anyhow, I thought you might like to see one of the swaps I've done! I decided to be a bit of a devil and do one using punch art this year! The Hamburger was inspired by the 'Punch Class' I've just done with Heather! I'll be doing a few of her projects (which are way cute I might add! lol) with my stamp club girls - they are so much fun!

So there ya have it! Would you be happy to get one of these as a swap? I hope so!

I hope you all have a great day. I'm off to have lunch with 2 of my beautiful friends to celebrate our birthdays since we all couldn't be together on the actual day!

Cheep Talk!

Happy Sunday morning everyone - hope your enjoying your day so far!

I've spent the majority of the morning at my stamp desk playing with another of my new stamp sets called 'Cheep Talk'! I truely love this little set - the images are so cute and ones that are very versatile! Gotta love that!

For my card, the colour scheme I chose was Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Summer Sun (See Keesh I used YELLOW!!) and Chocolate Chip! Lovely colours together, but man, what a nightmare to photograph! lol

I even thought I'd try out making a scallop Medallion using my Scallop Border punch. You can try one yourself by following this tutorial - they are really easy and another great thing you can use your punch for!!

Here's my card!

I love the gorgeous new buttons we now have! The one I've used is from the 'Button Latte' pack - very yummy!

My cute little speech bubble idea was inspired by my friend and fellow Demonstrator Sarah Klass in WA! Check out this post of hers - it gave me a chuckle when I saw it! Thanks Sair for the inspiration - can't wait to see ya at convention!!:)

So there ya have it! Just a simple card for today, but one I really think is kinda cute and hope you do too!

Until next time................

Playing With Punches!

Gosh, it seems like ages since I posted a new card for you, but infact it's only been a few days! Time fly's when your havin' fun!

I thought you might like to see the cute little card I made this afternoon using my punches! I can't take credit for the owl though, and since it's something that's been flying (get it!!) around the internet for a while now, I'm unsure who to give proper credit to! If you google Punch Art Owls, you will get many varieties to try, but I chose this one because I had all the required punches!

I will however take this opportunity to thank the clever gal's who think of these things and share their idea's on the internet for us all. I for one certainly appreciate it, and while I would love to return the favour..................I couldn't think of anything cute and original in the way of punch art even if my life depended on it! lol

It really is a very simple little card as you can see, so I won't go into all the details! If you do have any questions though, you know I'm more than happy to help you out!

Have a great night - I'm off to have a shower and some dinner - I'm starving!

Thanks so much to everyone who played along! I've loved reading all your posts and have taken on board your suggestions!

I'm not card making today, my brain is wanting a little break. I'm pretty sure you won't mind though considering how many new posts I've put up lately! lol

Have a great day everyone!

I'm off to get my hair done this morning to rid myself of this 'Yahoo Serious' kinda doo that I have happening! Remember 'Yahoo Serious' - if not just google him and you will get pics of what my hair looks like today! lol

'Faux Wood' Technique!

Morning everyone!

Well, it's still pretty dismal here in Mackay, although I'm certainly not complaining! The kids are occupied with some DVD's, my hubby is pottering around doing little things here and there and me..........we'll I'm still at my stamp desk havin' a ball! I love this weather for stamping!

I thought you might like to see the card I just finished making using the Faux Wood Technique! It's very easy, so let me tell you how to do it incase you'd like to give it a try!!

Firstly, take a piece of More Mustard card stock, I just used a piece I had in my scrap box. Then with a sponge, lightly scrape some Whisper White ink over it - I like to go in the same direction over and over again to make it look like you've captured the wood grain look!

Then, using another sponge and some Chocolate chip Ink (I use my reinkers, but you can certainly use your inkpads!) repeat the same process that you've just done with the white. You will see your card stock is now looking kinda like wood! Then you just cut it up, or in my case, I used my tag punch to punch out some little pickets for my fence! Easy as that!

This is my card!

For my flowers (Upsy Daisy and Pocket Silhouettes) I coloured the stamps with my markers (Old Olive, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum) then misted the stamp with water to make the colours all bleed in together, and then I stamped onto my Very Vanilla card! It gives such a beautiful soft effect!

I tossed up putting some ribbon or something on the card, but ended up deciding not to! I'm really happy with it just the way it is, with the little fence and flower spray being the main feature!

Hope you like it!

Seaworthy!

I, like so many of you, really struggle to make male type cards! I don't know why it is, but it drives me nuts, I mean, it really shouldn't be that hard should it? lol

Anyway, yesterday arvy, I thought I'd get out my Seaworthy Stamp set and see what I could come up with! I also really wanted to use a different colour combination than anything I've tried previously, so I consulted with the colour chart on our Demonstrator Website to see if any of those combinations would 'float my boat' - yeah, yeah weak pun I know!!lol

I ended up choosing Kraft, More Mustard, Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum, so set about seeing what I could do!

Here it is.........what do you think?

I have to say I was really happy with how it turned out!

I stamped the boat in Chocolate Chip ink, and then I used my aqua brush and blended various parts of the ocean and boat. I then added a touch of Plum, Mustard and Baja Breeze to add some colour to the sails.

That lovely paper you see comes from the Urban Oasis DSP! It's beautiful!

So, all in all, I'm pretty chuffed with this card and it really wasn't that hard when i sat down and put my mind to it!

Have a great day!

Fun With 'Poppin' Pastels'!

Hi everyone! Told you I'd be back Monday! lol

Here's a pretty quick card I made just this morning using the Upsy Daisy stamp set and the 'Poppin' Pastels' technique! So fun and awesome results!

I actually drew inspiration for the colour scheme of my card (Pacific Point, Old Olive, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla) from the front of a Dulux Paint brochure which I picked up this morning from Bunnings! The colours looked so lovely and fresh together,so I just had to come home and make a card using them!

Now, obviously we don't have Pacific Point in a chalk colour, but I found that Brilliant Blue works a treat and takes on the Pacific Blue colour quite well - strange I know, but it seriously does! lol

Hope you enjoy this card anyway, and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another creation to share!

Faux Pocket/Bookmark Card!

I thought I'd upload this one today as well since I probably won't get much card making done tomorrow! I hope you've been enjoying the results of my creativity - I've been having a ball! lol

Anyway, this arvy I made a 'Faux Pocket' card! Not sure if there is really such a thing, but you can get faux just about anything else, so why not a pocket card huh!

I was dying to get stuck into my new 'Rasberry Tart' papers! They were instantly put on my list when we Demonstrators got our preview Catalogue! The colours are just beautiful with there being a combination of Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Real Red, Pretty Ink Pink and Kiwi Kiss! When they arrived, I really loved them, but was also a little intimidated by how 'busy' some of the patterns were. Taking that factor very much into consideration, I tried to keep the card pretty simple with very little stamping!

Here's the front!

I made the sentiment into a pull out bookmark for something a little unusual!

Aren't the colours just so yummy! They remind me of lollies or something! lol

Ok, that's it from me probably until Monday! Enjoy your Easter weekend, and I hope the bunny manages to hop into your part of the world and leave you all some of your favourite chocci!!

Simple Elegance!

I got up bright and early this morning to take some pics of some projects I've been working on and then headed straight back to my desk to create some more! I'm really in the "zone" right now, and I'm having a great time playing with all my new stuff!

This time, I thought I'd make a card using the gorgeous Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp set! Ever since I first layed eyes on that set, I knew the rose would be peferct to do some paper tole with and so that's what I set about doing this morning for this card!

With Mothers Day not far away, I thought it would make the perfect card to give, or it could also make a lovely wedding/engagement card as well just by changing the sentiment!

For my card, I used the Bella Bleu Designer Series Papers, and again the papers dictated what colours I'd use - Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla and Kraft!

I think I stamped the rose about 5 times (kinda lost track once I started cutting!) onto Kraft card stock, and then built the rose up by using different elements of the petals! I finished it off with some Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, which I secured with a Build A Brad, and I tied the ribbon with some Linen thread just for something different!

I have to be a bit modest here, and say I really love how the card turned out and hope you do too!

Just before I disappear back to my desk, just a reminder that there's still time to enter my Blog Candy Giveaway! Just a few more days until I draw a winner - most exciting!!!

Have a great day!

Aiming For Simplicity!

Hey there again - as you can see, I'm on a bit of a roll here today! My desk looks like a bombs hit it, the floor's covered with paper, my bed's covered in my new stamp sets, every one of my craft cupboard doors are open from me looking for stuff and basically...... I'm card making in a bit of a shemozel! Suprisingly enough, I'm functioning ok in this mess, although cleaning up could prove to be quite a task! Oh well, doesn't matter right, so long as I'm havin' fun? lol

Ok, so this is a really quick card I made earlier this morning. I have taken god knows how many photos of it, and I still can't get it quite right even in photoshop! Oh well, I hope you guys are good at 'visioning'! lol

I've used some of the gorgeous new papers from the Urban Garden collection which I loved as soon as I saw them, and I chose just a couple of the colours that compliment the paper to make my card. Those being, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy and of course Whisper White!

I've used Upsy Daisy again, as well as the butterfly and sentiment from the Flight Of The Butterfly stamp set!! So pretty!

The card is pretty straight forward I think, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!

Back to my desk..............

Playing With Different Colours!

Good morning from a windy and wet day in Mackay!!

Last night I sat and played with more of my new toys. I can't show you all of what I made just yet, but you'll get to see them soon enough and hopefully you'll think it was worth the wait! lol

What I can show you, is a card I made using the 'Upsy Daisy' stamp set from our new catalogue! I was admiring this set when our US friends got it in their catalogue - it's just beautiful, and it's a great one to use if you want to whip up some cards quickly.

I have to be honest though and say that last night, I wasn't sure I was even going to upload it today. I'm not sure why, but I just didn't like it! After a half decent sleep though, I woke and it didn't look so bad - so here it is! lol

The colours I used are Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, and So Saffron! I chose those colours based on a colour chart we have on our Demonstrator Website that shows us complimentary colours to use with the new In Colours!

What you can't see in the photo, is that I've coated the flowers in Crystal Effects, and then lightly sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over them - it's really pretty IRL! Let me know what you think anyway - I'd love to know!

Don't forget to enter into my 'Blog Candy' in the post below! I am really excited to be giving that bundle to one lucky person, and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading your posts!

Have a great day everyone!

New Card..... Using New "Toys"!

Ok, so I took the kids to school, went and did just a few of the things I needed to do (will get to the other things later, the stamps were callin'me!) and came home and whipped up this card! I couldn't help myself - I desperately needed to get into some of my new stuff!

The card below features just a few of the gorgeous new products in our Catalogue!

The base card is Pumpkin Pie, and the Designer Series Paper I've used are from the gorgeous pack called 'Sweet Always'! The colours really are rather "yummy" looking to say the least in that pack!

The stamp set I've used is called Crazy For Cupcakes! I was so excited to see us get this set in our catalogue, - it's just lovely! The cupcake actually has a candle sticking out of it, but for the purpose of this card, I chose to mask it off with some tape when i was inking it up, so that I could use one of the new and exciting Build A Brad's to resemble a cherry! Wow!! Those little things are sooooo fun! Basically, you can make your own brad and have it co-ordinate with your card simply by punching out a small circle, adhering it to the brad base, and then pop a clear bubble over the top!! I love em'!!

Now, you'll see I've used a lovely new border punch on my card as well! It's called an Eyelet Border Punch and it dresses up a card so nicely I think! The paper I've used that punch with (and on the cupcake base as well) is from the Good Morning Sunshine Pack! If you read back a post or 2, I mentioned how I loved that particular print!

And lastly, I used the cupcake wheel that matches the Crazy For Cupcakes Stamp set just to dress up the bottom of the card!

Hope you like this little number, I'm off to make a coffee and get back to my desk to see what else I can whip up!

I'm Still Here..........Just Busy!

Morning everyone!

Just a quick post for today to let you know that I'm still here and that I've just been running around like a mad woman with kids and their 'extra' school activities! Alot of you will know what that's like!

I did however take possession of my HUGE box of new products from the SU Catty yesterday - gosh it was like Christmas! I never thought I was going to get to the bottom of the box - and secretly I hoped I wouldn't! ;) Hopefully I will get to sit and create today, but I have things I need to get done first - you know how it is!!

I'm almost finished my convention swaps - am up to 100 now - yay me!! I'm really pleased with how they've all turned out! So far, I've got 10 different card designs, and I've made 10 of each, cause I get bored doing any more than 10 things the same! lol

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and get to squeeze in just a little bit crafting!

Makeesha's Challenge!

Well, today started off being busy with me firstly cleaning my house, and then going out to watch my little boy Brock fly his newest radio controlled aeroplane! He actually got it in January, but I'd been busy prepping for workshops or actually doing workshops, and hadn't been able to take the trip out to watch him fly it! I'm so glad I could make it today, to watch him be so passionate and enjoy something so much is a beautiful thing! That little boy is something else - can you tell I'm a very proud mum! lol

Anyways, after I got home, I decided to tackle Keesh's challenge for this week. She supplied us with a picture and we could interpret that however we wanted.

Here's her pic!

And here's my card!

When I started, I had absolutely no idea where it would end up! I knew from the beginning though, that I wanted to encorporate a punch art coffee mug (which was not my original idea and I'm unsure of the original creator!) and the rest just seemed to follow!

From Keesh's picture, I chose to use the colours Sage Shadow, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Confetti Cream and Creamy Caramel!
That gorgeous paper is one design from the 'Good Morning Sunshine' pack........just divine! I love it so much, I've actually done some convention swaps using it - there's just something about that particular pattern that I really like!

Hope your having a very relaxing Saturday arvy!

ETA - I feel like such a doofus! Was just looking at Keesh's pic again and realised I used Sage Shadow instead of Certainly Celery! Good lord, you must seriously be wondering about me!

Cute Little Easter Basket!

I've had another busy day today, but it feels so good to have gotten alot done. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit slower for me, and I'll get a chance to get more convention swaps done - I'm up to 80 now - only another 40 to go!

I did sneak in a bit of crafting time this afternoon after I got the kids from school which I thought I'd show you.

My friend Keesh put together this awesome little basket tutorial today, and I just had to try it out! I wanted mine to be a little bit different, so I used some punches to make a bunny!

But........he's not completely made using punches........check out his belly? It's the big oval egg from "The Good Egg" stamp set. I stamped it in Pretty In Pink ink on Whisper White card, and then cut around it just leaving a little tiny border! It worked perfectly!

Most punched bunnies I've ever seen have had a round face, but because of his body size I thought an oval suited it better!

I've got another bunny to make tomorrow to stick on the front of the other basket I made, and then I'll go choccie shopping so the kids will have a nice gift for their teachers next week! I'll try really hard to remember to take a photo of them both all ready to go too!

Have a great night and be sure to try that tutorial of Keesh's - they are so quick and easy (except if you decide to try and make a bunny!)
