Bring Back The Sock Monkey! lol

Well here I am back again............this time with a card! lol

I sat down today and thought I'd bring my little mate 'Hank' back out to play! He had a nice little holiday down in Brisbane with the lovely Linda Craven a while back. I believe she loved him so much she might have purchased her own little monkey friend:)! You can see the gorgeous cards Linda made here. She also sent me that big box of bananas and maltesers - YUMMO!!

Anhoooo, this is the card I got done...........it was very simple and quite quick - it's the colouring that really takes the longest.

I'm just loving making simple cards at the moment for some reason! Enjoy!

Check This Out!!!

Hey there everyone!

So, I wake up this morning and go down to the newsagents to get myself Saturday's paper, and thought 'what the heck grab a stampin' Mag too!' We're suppose to be getting a bucket load of rain here in Mackay over the weekend, so I thought I best have some good reading material ready! lol

I get home and bust open the package of 3 mags, flicked through the 1st one and picked up the second, only to find my Hannah Stamps cards ON THE FRONT PAGE!!! Talk about major excitment!!! I've had a few things published now but NEVER on the front page!! I'm not sure how old this edition is, but I'm guessing it's been out a little while........or more, and I have just been living under a rock! lol

Here's the mag!

Sorry about the crappy photo, but it's the best I could do this morning in all my excitment! lol

Paper Flowers!

Hi Ho Everyone! Happy Sunday arvy to ya!

I thought I'd pop on and show you the card I finished for my stash just now! It's actually going to be mailed off to someone special this week, so it won't actually stay in my stash for long!

I found this cool and easy tutorial to make paper flowers using border punches. Instead of making mine stand up kinda 3d-ish though, I pressed it nice and flat so it won't cost me the earth to post!

I used my Big Shot Parchment Die (now discontinued), the Little Leaves die and also the sizzlet Buttons die that are only currently available in the US. Hopefully we'll get them when the Big Shot is launched here in Australia in April!
The 'Friend' sentiment is from the Chit Chat rub-on's that are currently available in our Summer Mini Catalogue!

Just a reminder too, that SALE-A-BRATION starts TOMORROW!!! Oh happy days.......Sale-A-Bration is my favourite time of year!!
If you'd like to place an order of $100 or more (before postage) and claim 1 of 4 FREE stamp sets for yourself, it's as simple as emailing me! I've popped a link to the catalogue on my left hand side bar so that you can see what you have to choose from! Gotta love FREE stuff hey!?

Anyway, I'd love to know what you think of my card! Thanks for stopping by today!

More Simple Cards!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I'm still puddling around making simple cards to boost my stash and so I thought I'd share with you today, what I made last night!

This card is made using the 1 1/4" circle punch and also one of the stamps from Circle Circus! The colour scheme is Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White! The sentiment is from the level 2 hostess set Occassions For All!

Then I decided to make a male version of it. So below, we have the same card (except for the flower!) using Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, So Saffron, Sage Shadow and Whisper White!

And here they are both together!

Both of these cards took me no more than 1/2 an hour to make - my kinda cards! lol

Hope you like them!

A Simple Male Card!

Morning All,

I thought I'd show you the card I sat and made last night! It's just a very simple one, nothing flash, but that's the style of card I've decided I'm more partial to - more 'me' I guess you could say!

I've really noticed of late, how when mailing a card at the Post Office, you only have to have a couple of 'bumpy' bits on your card, and suddenly your postage costs double - kinda frustrating actually!
So, this year I'm really making an effort to make my cards very simple for the purpose of mailing, limiting bumpy bits and heaps of layers! I believe you can still create a beautiful card without those things, you just have to be a bit creative!

So here's what I made last night!

I've use 2 brads and some linen thread to add a bit of interest, and both these things are very flat on my card. To add a bit of texture to it, I popped a piece of Chocolate Chip card through my crimper (both inwards and sideways) to create a faux seer sucker look!
Be sure to give that technique a try, it's a fun one, and can take an otherwise plain card to a level of awesomeness in 5 seconds flat!

I've then just finished the card off by stamping one of the trees from the Trendy Tree's stamp set and a greeting from the Basic Phrases stamp set!

As I said, just a very simple card, but one you could definitely do for a workshop or whip up quickly for your stash just like I did!

Hope you like it!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #51

Two posts in one day............not bad...........not bad at all! lol

I had a bit of time spare today, so I thought I'd play along with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch #51! I loved that it was one of simplicity, and one that didn't require alot from my brain!

Here's the sketch!

And here's my card! I actually got 2 of these made for my stash!

I wanted to use colours that I don't always grab for in my filing cabinet, so I went for Green Galore, Pink Passion, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip! They look really funky together I reckon!

I popped a lovely rhinestone brad in each of the cupcakes icing (which have also been popped up on dimensionals), the centre one being pink, although it doesn't really look all that pink in the photo! You'll get the drift though I'm sure!

Not sure I'll get any crafting in tomorrow. My daughter is having some little girls over for a belated birthday party and they are having a 'Singstar Sing Off'! Good lord, where are my earplugs!!!!

So until next time....................

Fun With Sweet Treat Cups!

I've been trying to build up a stash of cards to have on hand because to be brutally honest, I was pretty shocking at sending out cards last year:(

I'm hoping to rectify that this year though, and already have a nice little stash building up - YAY ME! lol

So, yesterday saw me make 2 of these for upcoming birthdays!

And below is a photo of them side by side! They're actually a partial CASE from the lovely Marelle Taylor. If you scroll down this post of hers, you'll find the one that she made for her son! I didn't go as far as making the little slide out part for my cards though, as the little boys who'll be receiving them are very much 'little boys' and will just rip into them anyway! lol

I was really happy with how they turned out - those sweet treat cups are so much fun!

A Simple Valentines!

Hi folks!

It's been a little while since I've entered Shelli Gardner's Creative Challenge so I thought I'd give this one a whirl! Her theme is Valentines Day this time round, and initially she was going to suggest that we didn't use traditional colours (Reds, Pinks ect) but she thought that would be too harsh! lol

I thought I'd take her up on that challenge anyway, and go ahead and make a Valentines Day card using anything but the norm!

For my card, I've chosen Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Whisper White and Cameo Coral! I even made a big ol' heart embellishment too!

Below is a close up of a bit of the front panel so you can kinda see what I've done!

Hope you like it, and if you have any questions at all, just pop them in the comments section of my blog and I'll reply to them there also!

Another 'Scrap Card' and A KWerner Challenge!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I was pretty stoked to see Kristina Werner put up a colour challenge this week! Don't get excited though, cause this is not a relaunch of her challenges - it's simply a random one off kinda thing!

Anyway these are the colours she gave us to play with!

And here's my card!

I'm still very much into using up my scraps at the moment and everything all except the So Saffron Base came from my scrap box!

Because Kristina had us use sooooo many colours this week, I chose to keep most of my card white (a tip from Kristina way back actually!), and just make the flower embellishment the main focal point!

This challenge was heaps of fun and DEFINITELY a challenge for me! lol
Hope you like it!

Another Creation Made From Scraps!

Here I am back again with another creation made from my box of scraps!

This time I furridged around and got out a piece of DSP which I had previously found quite intimidating to work with! To me it's just too busy or something............I dunno! But anyways, that's what I gave myself to use, and I had to come up with something that worked!

I decided the best plan of attack was to keep things VERY simple though considering the paper pretty much does all the work!

Here's what I came up with!

It just goes to show that you can make a pretty little card, with very limited supplies when you need to!

Not bad for a scrapbox creation I reckon! lol

Raiding My Scraps Box!

Morning all!

Well, last night I sat at my stamp desk with my Ipod belting out a few tunes, and I decided to raid my box of scrap card stock and DSP and see what I could do with them! Your probably like me and have a huge boxfull just sitting there..............am I right? lol
Upon checking out the contents, I even managed to find 2 pieces of ribbon (E/Eggplant and Kraft), how they got there is anyones guess, but I was determined to use them up anyway!

Moving along, I flicked through our Idea Book to see what I could CASE and change around a bit according to the scraps I had in front of me. I wanted to use as limited supplies as I could......only cause I'm lazy and didn't want a huge mess to clean up afterwards! lol So, if you go to page 125 in our Aussie catalogue, you'll see the layout I chose for both of my cards!

The card pictured, actually has a belly band, but I just encorporated the belly band look onto a card front! Make sense.......probably not, but just look below at card number 1!

The card below actually uses the same paper as the card I CASED from the catty, but I had to use that scrap of Elegant Eggplant ribbon that I found and looked for other colours that would co-ordinate with it in my scraps!

I also added my own touches to both the cards and did a bit of paper piercing - it always adds something to a card I reckon!

I'm hoping to get some cardmaking done today cause its beautiful and rainy here in Mackay! Must charge my Ipod first though, cause she's dead flat from last nights session! lol

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Not Sure.............

Well...............it's been a VERY long time since I've picked up a stamp and if I was honest, I'd say today's creation was a very forced one! I say 'forced' because I had to have a card made for someone, but I just didn't feel like sitting and doing it at all. I finshed the said card just now and although I'm far from happy with it, I thought I'd show it to you anyway!

The colours I chose are sooooooooooo not me, but they are very much the colours that the person I'm giving it to likes. I think that also threw me for a six, because seriously, I cannot work with Lovely Lilac, Summer Sun, Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip! lol

Anyhoooooo, the card below is a CASE from my friend Kirsty Brown. When I saw this card of hers, I saved it and knew I'd CASE it one day..............but hers is way nicer than mine! lol

I think I'm not happy with it because it's got too much Chocolate Chip on it, but I moved colours around, switched things here and there, and when I'd been working on it for 2 hours trying to get it right.............I called it quits as it was! lol

I know the recipient will love it, so thats all that counts.................right?? lol
