Back Soon!

Well hello and HAPPY SUNDAY!!

Unfortunately I didn't get any more cards done this past week - it wasn't from lack of trying though believe me! lol

I sat down a few times and tried to put ink to card stock, but it would appear that my mojo has done a runner and anything I did produce, promptly ended up in the bin beside me and was definitely not worthy of blogging!

Today I was going to try again, but I've decided to spend some time with my kids and hubby and chill out in front of the telly watching dvd's whilst snuggled under a blanket!  It's that kind of weather here in Mackay today.....a bit on the chilly side, so who could resist doing that huh! lol

So that being said, I'll be back during the week, hopefully with a few new creations for you! :)

Have a good one............

Curtain Call Act #44

Hey there!

I've really been enjoying playing along in the Curtain Call challenges every week!  I love the fact that Stacey gives us these fabo colour combo's that really throw me right out of my comfort zone, because I'm like most people and tend to reach for the same ol' colours all the time!  If you look in my filing cabinet, you'll know which are my faves! lol

Anyhow, this week, she's chosen another lot of bright colours...........yikes!!

I don't have any of the new In Colours just yet, so I used what I had here that looked kinda close to those in the inspiration pic!  I used Tempting Turquoise, Yo Yo Yellow and Cameo Coral!  Not sure if those substitutes are remotely close the real thing (I'm thinking not! lol) but hey, sometimes you just gotta improvise!

Here's my card using more of my Papertrey Ink Stamps called Everyday Button Bits!

I was really quite pleased with the end product considering those colours freaked me out!   It's just another super simple card I know, but simple is great, and can have exactly the same impact as something with all the bells and whistles hanging off it!
Simple is also good when it comes time to popping it in the post, because there's no extra charges! ;)

I hope you like this card anyway, and thanks Stacey for another 'challenging' challenge! lol

Another Lounge Chair Card!

Here we are, and it's Monday again, can you believe it??

Okey Dokey, today I'm showing you a card I made very late on Saturday afternoon just incase I didn't get to craft yesterday with Maddison's violin concert stuff happening!
For this particular card, I dragged out my little Janome Sew Mini sewing machine and  added some stitching!  I haven't used it in months, so it was a lovely change, although I'm not very good at sewing in a straight line on paper! lol

I even used a colour combination I don't think I've used before, and that is Barely Banana, Perfect Plum and Close To Coco.  Different...........but it looks nice I think!
I was on a mission to use scraps actually - hence my odd combination! lol

So what do you think?  It's another super duper simple card I know, but simple's good, especially when working with bits and pieces!

I'm really lovin' those Papertrey Ink Lounge Chair stamps too......or maybe you hadn't noticed?  lol
They seriously are just the cutest little things, and are perfect for making really quick cards that look rather spiffy too!  I highly recommend you get them at some point! ';)

Until next time..............

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #36

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Today I'm showing you the card I've made for Keesh's Inkspirations challenge this week!  As soon as I saw the colour combination, I couldn't resist playing along cause they are just so yummy!

Here's the colour combo for this week!

See...........told you they were yummy!  And below is my card!

I decided to get another of my Papertrey Ink stamp sets all inked up today!  This ones called Tea For Two Additons and it's super cute!  I just love how you can put the tiny words in the tea bag tag!

I've stamped the background in versamark with both the lemon wedge and the little sugar pot.  Then, I've sponged around the edges (mind you, you can't seem to see that!), paperpierced a border and then made a feature of the little teacups!  I'm really pleased with how it turned out considering I had no idea where the card was going when I started!

So that's my card for Saturday anyway and I hope you've enjoyed seeing it!   I have great ambitions of crafting tomorrow, but my daughter has a violin concert on at the Conservatorium Of Music that she has to go to, so  I guess I'll just see how the day unfolds!

Catch ya later gator!

Anyone For Watercolour Crayons!

I meant to put this at the bottom the previous post but I forgot to, along with forgetting to watermark my card!  It's one of those days! lol

If anyone is interested, I'm selling my SU Watercolour Crayons.  I have the Soft Subtes, Rich Regals and Bold Brights!  They have rarely been used at all, so I'm asking $20 per colour family.  Postage will be $7 per individual tin or if you buy all 3 sets, it'll be $10.50 postage!

Payment needs to be by Direct Deposit into my CBA bank account!

If you're interested, please email me!

Just Add Ink #31!

Morning All!

I just realised it was Friday and that means another fabo challenge over at Just Add Ink!  It's a beautiful colour combo this week and I was tempted to go all Christmassy with it, but instead I just kept it simple, because simple seems to work for me!

Alrighty, here are the colours we had to play with this week!

And here's my card based on those colours!

I thought I'd ink up another one of my Papertrey Ink Stamp sets called  Everyday Button Bits!  It's a lovely little set filled with lots of images where you add buttons!   I ordered a pile of PTI buttons in my last order in different colours, and it's so much fun going through each container because being vintage buttons, you never know what you'll find!

Well that's it for me today.  Hope you like it!  Oh, and before I forget to tell you, I went ahead and enrolled in that photography course today that I had previously mentioned.  I'm so excited about it, and look forward to learning more about my new camera.
In the new year I'm going to take another one of their courses which teaches you how to edit your photos in photoshop!  I will REALLY love that one, because I currently use Photoshop Elements 5 and I know I haven't even touched the surface on it yet and I've always wanted someone to teach me how to get more from it!  So much fun to come and I love to learn new things!

A Card From A Friend!

Well hello!

I'm still here puddling around with my new toy, and thought I'd show you the beautiful card that my friend Lorri sent me from the US!  This was actually one of her convention swaps this year, so I felt very lucky to receive one!   Lorri and I actually have a bit of a boomerang card thing happening.  She sends me a card and I send one straight back to her!  It's really fun, and a great way to get some new and fresh ideas!

Isn't it beautiful?  And that photo aint half bad either if I do say so myself! lol

A few people have emailed me to ask how like the Canon G-11!  Let me just say I am FAR from any kind of professional photographer (past photos would well and truely indicate that! lol)  but so far it seems very easy to use, and I'm not at all intimidated by it like I was with my previous one.

In fact, it's kinda having the opposite effect in that I really want to learn more about the features it has.  There's a photography course here in Mackay next month,so I might look into going to that!  They cater for each persons individual camera, so you don't learn stuff that doesn't apply to your particular model!  Sounds like it might be a bit of fun anyway!

Hope your all having a great day!  I'm off to fold some washing and water the flowers on my verandah!

Better Photo's To Come.........I Hope!

Hi all!

I haven't had a chance to do much crafting this week as I've been too busy researching new digital camera's. My other one seems to be struggling a little and no longer giving me the quality of photo's I want to be blogging and to be quite honest............it's been bugging me and it was time to do something about it!

So, after many consultations with google, as well as emails to friends and complete strangers, I ended up buying the Canon G-11 this afternoon!  The battery is currently charging and as I'm reading the manual, it would appear that this time round, I do NOT need a university degree to use this baby!  BONUS!

Having said that, just bear with me while I find my ground with it as everything new always takes a little to learn ( even when you do have it set on auto!lol)   That salesman at Harvey Norman will regret saying that he is happy to help me anytime I'm sure!

I promise I'll be back soon!

Curtain Call Colour Challenge #43

Hey there everyone!

Hope you had a super weekend!  I had such good intentions of having some crafting time, but unfortunately it didn't end up that way!  I did however manage to snag a few minutes today to make a card for Stacey's Curtain Call Colour Challenge!

I have to admit to getting a bit freaked out by the bright colours..............those who know me well know I just don't do the whole bright thing!  Having said that, I was determined to make something, so I decided since these colours were rather intimidating to me, I'd keep it simple!  Simple is good! lol

Here's the colours!

And here's my card!

Isn't this little stamp just the cutest thing!  It's part of a set I bought recently from Papertrey Ink!  There's even a die for the lounge chair so you don't have to cut it out by hand - gotta love that right? lol

The card is very self explanitory I think - nothing too hard there, but if you have any questions you know you can always email me!

Have a great day and I'll be back later in the week!

Just Add Ink Challenge #30

Hey there folks - hows things in your neck of the woods?

Today I'm here to show you my entry into the Just Add Ink Challenge this week!  It's a beauty I have to say so be sure to play along if you get a moment!

This week we had to 'add wheels' in our creation.  Now, that could mean making something 3d and putting some wheels on it, or you could use your rollergraph wheels to add patterns to your creation OR in my case, use a stamp that already has wheels!!!  This was the best excuse for me to ink up my brand new stamp set from Papertrey Ink!  I soooooo love this little VW! lol

Here's my card!

And a close up of the gorgeous little VW!  I bought the die that goes with this set so I didn't have to cut it out by hand.....it's excellent!

Just a very simple square card, but one that I made while I was thinking about little Hudson!  He really WILL enjoy his new ride when this fundraiser is over, and it will be a HUGE congrats to all the team who put the fundraiser together!

Be sure to read all about the fundraiser and Hudson here.  There are fantastic tutorial bundles for sale and challenges to do, or if you prefer, you can always just donate a little cash to this very worthwhile cause so that little Hudson can get mobile and enjoy his life a lot more!  How fun for him to have a new set of wheels!

Until next time...........

Love Is Like A Butterfly............

Hey There Friends!

Hope your having a great Tuesday!  I've had a lovely day at my craft desk - 2 days in a row is pretty rare for me though I have to say!  Usually I get caught up in the stuff I have to do, rather than just chillin' and taking some time for me, so to have made a card today feels awesome!

Today's card was inspired by one I found and took a bit of a fancy to on page 107 of the Stampin' Up! Catalogue in the States using the Butterfly Prints stamp set!  Although I totally loved the card, I didn't want to CASE it exactly so I just changed a few things around and added a few new things just to make it mine!

I found I had some Rose Red textured cardstock in my stash.  I really don't like using the textured stuff for a card base because I find its just too flimsy, so instead I used it as a layer on my card and I think it looks really nice complimented by So Saffron, Kraft and Chocolate Chip!

Here's my card!

I wanted a more textured feel to the paper pierced holes, so to achieve the 'feel' I wanted, I pierced that circle shape from the inside of the card  through to the front.  Does that make sense?  So when you run your hand over it, it feels really bumpy!  Not sure why I wanted that look exactly........... so probably best not to ask me that question! lol

Hope you like my card for today!  Oh, and I'm glad you all seemed to like my lollipop card from yesterday too - I wasn't so sure you would to be honest!

Have a great arvy and remember, if you have any questions, feel free to flick me an email and I'll get back to you ASAP!

It's All About The Candy!

Afternoon Folks!

I thought you might like to see the card I made today!  With this card, I actually killed 2 birds with one stone and got 2 challenges done - yay me!  The colour scheme is from the  Curtain Call Colour Challenge #42 and the layout is for this weeks challenge over at Clean And Simple Stamping!

Here's the Curtain Call Colours for this week!  While we don't have the new incolours yet, I just used what I had that was closest to it!

Here's the sketch from Clean And Simple Stamping!

And by combining the two challenges, here's what I came up with!

I thought I'd make some cute little lollipops.  To make them, I embossed the swirly tree from the Trendy Trees stamp set in white.  I then punched them out using my 1" punch.  That process makes the actual lollipop.

Now here's the funny part.   I sat here rolling white paper to make the little lollipop sticks (which you really could do if you were patient!) but then I remembered my son had a few lollipops in a show bag he'd gotten on Saturday night!  I went and raided his bag and cut the sticks off his lollipops!!  It certainly was MUCH quicker and looked better too!  Luckily he has a good sense of humour and just said "ohhhhhh mum!" when I told him - poor kid! lol

Next, I wrapped the lollipops in part of a cello bag and then tied ribbons on each one to secure them!  They are attached to the card using dimensionals and glue dots!

I was really happy with how it turned out.  Unfortunately it's been a bit overcast here today and the photo isn't the best, but you get the idea I'm sure! lol

Hope you like it!

Using Up Some Pretty Paper!

Hi Folks!

Hope your enjoying your Sunday arvy!  I've had a lovely day here at my craft desk!  I won't tell a lie though and say I got a whole lot done, but it was fun just puddling around!

The card I'm showing you today is one I finished about 1/2 an hour ago!  I noticed in my box of scraps today that I had this pile of little strips of DSP which I'd obviously cut for another project!  For the life of me I can't rememer what I used them for, but I must have needed these little strips for something cause there was plenty of them! lol

I had an idea in my head that I'd try and make a male card using these little strips, but everything I tried turned to......well you know! he he!
What I ended up doing, was going with the original layout I had in  my mind, but just added some leaves and flowers!    I even got to ink up another of my Papertrey Ink stamp sets called Signature Greetings!  I just love the look of actual handwriting on the front of cards..........such a shame I don't trust myself with a pen to add my own signature touch! lol

Ok, so here's todays effort!

The layout is very simple as you can see.  I've put the strips to one side so that I could ruffle the ribbon and tie it off on the other!   The little flower is a set of sizzix dies called Flower Fusion which I've crumpled up, sponged with So Saffron Ink and then assembled with a brad!

The little flower bud is just a piece of the So Saffron card stock that I've rolled up and positioned into place with a glue dot! Easy Peasy!

Well that's it for today - it's time for a cuppa I reckon!   Hope you like this card, and I really do appreciate you taking the time to leave me the lovely comments that you do!

Just Add Ink #29

Two posts in a matter of an hour or so - not bad!  I guess you'll forgive me then if I don't get back here until early next week now huh! lol

Finally I snapped a half decent shot of my Just Add Ink challenge card for this week - does anyone else struggle when photographing Kraft cardstock or is it just me?  Crikey it's hard to get a non grainy look with that stuff!  If anyone can offer me any advice, I'd be very grateful!

Anyway, the colours the girls chosen this week are so lovely together!  At first I was drawn to doing something flowery, but then my package from Keesh arrived which contained my Papertrey Ink shopping so I thought I'd ink up my new little set called Fly Away!

Here's the colours incase you hadn't seem them yet!

And here's my fun little card!

The card itself looks so much nicer IRL, but sometimes that's the case with those hard to photograph cards!  I was pretty happy with how it turned out though - something completely different and my son just loved it which is always a bonus!

Oh and before I forget, the clouds are cut using a die from Papertrey Ink also!  If you scroll down a bit on that link, you'll find them.  They cut so beautifully and actually a lot more smoothly than some of my sizzix dies!

Lollipop Ladies Challenge #1

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Hope you all had a great week!  I certainly had a busy one, hence my lack of posting! lol
It's all good though,  cause I have a beautiful clean house, with freshly washed curtains and blinds, clean pantry and linen cupboard and I even tackled the dreaded tupperware cupboard!   In amongst that I also mowed the lawn and cleaned all our windows inside and out!  See, told ya I was a busy girl! lol

Today I'm showing you a card I made last night for the Lollipop Ladies new challenge blog!  This week we could create anything pertaining to sweet BUT we had to include sprinkles!  LOVE IT!

Ok, so this was the inspiration pic!

I decided not to use my icecream stamp set even though I love it to death!  Instead, I chose to use my brand new Cupcake Collection stamp set that Keesh gifted to me from her trip to the US!  It's definitely full of all things SWEET!

Here's what I whipped up!

And a close up of that yummy cupcake!

This combination of colours are really not ones I usually go for but they certainly were perfect for this challenge.  I've used Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Choclate Chip!

I have a challenge card done for Just Add Ink to, but I'm having problems getting a half decent photo of it!  I just hate it when Kraft photographs all grainy looking.  I'll keep trying and see how I go!

Have a good one!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #34

Hey there everyone!

I've been at my craft desk literally all afternoon with the card I'm about to show you for the Inkspirations Colour Challenge #34!  I had it almost finished, but then spent goodness knows how long sitting here moving the darn stars around so they'd look right.   I wish you could just plonk them down and have them look just fine!!lol

Ok, so these are the colours Keesh has for us this week!

And at the risk of getting absolutely NO comments - here's my card, stars and all! lol

I look at it and I'm really not sure about it!  While it doesn't float my boat though, it might float someone else's,  and that's the whole point of sharing on our blogs right?

Thanks for the challenge Keesh...........it was...........well........different! lol
