Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Entry!

Hi Folks!

Here's a card I finished a few minutes ago that I made for Papertrey Inks Make it Monday #18 which is called Adding Texture Using Tissue Paper!  Not sure why, but I had no wrinkly bits on mine like the video sample but it looks pretty spiffy just the same and its great way to tone down some DSP that you really have no clue what to do with!

Here's my card!

I've  stuck the tissue paper over a piece of DSP from SU's Woodland Walk pack and then I sewed around the edge which was fun!   I even inked up a few Papertrey Ink stamp sets that I got a month or so back so at least I can say I've used them now! lol

This particular card is being sent to a really good friend of mine who's just come through a rough couple of years and who is now free to enjoy her life the way she wants to!

Anyhow, I hope you're having a great day!  I think I'm gonna go and make a cuppa after I link this card up to Papertrey!

Wow, Karen! Simply devine! That is a really cute stamp set, and you have sewn the edges!! I always thinking sewing on cards looks amazing, but alas I can not sew in a straight line!

Oh, I LOOOOVE this - a gorgeous card for a special friend. I really like how the tissue paper 'tones down' the pattern on the DSP; hadn't thought of doing that (vellum, yes - tissue paper, no!). Beautiful, lovey!

Hi Karen,
That card is just amazing. I love the colours on the brsnch and the tissue paper looks fab. Must remember that idea for all those 'way too bright' papers.

Always fun trying new things! This is lovely, Karen! I have missed popping by to visit ... but my dad’s sickness has been a big distraction over the last few weeks. I am looking forward to scrolling back through your recent posts and checking out your fab inspiration ... but won’t have time to comment on each! Hugs xxaxx

what a beautiful card. The tissue paper really does add a lot with texture doesn't it. Very cute idea to put the twine around your bow. Your friend will treasure your card.

Great card and I particularly like the colours. Couldn't get this technique to work for me, probably the glue I used.
