Just A Note...........

It's been a few weeks since I've made a card - hence why I haven't updated the ol' blog!  Things have been really busy, and added to that we have school holidays happening here as well - not enough hours in my day I'm afraid! lol

Anyhoooooooo, I wanted to make something really pretty today.......not for any particular reason........just because I could! lol

I chose a nice soft pallet to work with, and I think over all it turned out quite nicely!
This card would be lovely done in a few different colour schemes just to have on hand for occassions that pop up unexpectedly don't you think?  Maybe I need to put that idea into action! lol

Have a great day and WELCOME to my new followers.  I noticed I had a few newbies......no prizes for guessing how you found me! lol  Thanks for the support - much appreciated!!

JAI Challenge #84

I've been up bright and early this morning getting all my chores done and decided I had well and truely earned myself some craftin' time! lol

I thought I'd play along with the JAI girls this week and tackle their challenge..............and lordy me.......it WAS a challenge! lol  Check it out:

We could only use White and one other colour and if that wasn't enough of a challenge, I chose to use Cameo Coral for my colour choice - definitely not a colour I work with much! lol

This is what I came up with though and I was really happy with it in the end!  Simplicity is definitely the key in challenges like this!

I was even more proud of myself because I inked up some of the Papertrey Ink stamp sets I ordered a while back!  To create this card,  I've used stamps from Mat Stack 1 Collection, Retro Backgrounds and Gracious Vases.

And just before I go, I recently had a comment left by my friend Debbie, telling me I hadn't posted a photo of my little Ragdoll baby, Teddy for a while!  Well, here ya go Deb, this ones for you! lol

Another Card......And Some EXCITING News!

I actually made 2 cards yesterday and this one wasn't going to be blogged cause at the time...........it didn't float my boat much - it was too 'patterney' or something! lol

My daughter, who is my biggest fan/critic really liked it, so I thought I'd blog it anyway for ya!  What doesn't appeal to me much, might inspire someone else, right?

I actually made it for my entry into Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday, so I better go link it up now its blogged!  The background was made by stamping one of the small images in a stamp set called Iconic Images which we earned for free a while back just by spending $100!

My friend Cara in Canada sent me a few of the gorgeous flower die cuts using a brand new little die that PTI bought out last month called Bloom Builders #3!  I have actually ordered that die and it should be here tomorrow thanks to my lovely friend Gayatri posting it over from WA!  THANKS GAYATRI!

Now..... onto my EXCITING NEWS!   I was recently contacted by Michelle at The Stamp Spot and asked if I would join her Design Team!!!  I've been thinking for the past few months that I'd like to join one, so I was SO EXCITED when she asked me - it was perfect timing!!   I'll be posting to The Stamp Spot blog along with the other designers, so be sure to pop over and leave a cheery comment......we'd all love to hear from you!

Righto, before my excitment carries me away, I better go and get the kids organised for school!  I'm still sitting here in my jammies and bed hair........NOT A GOOD LOOK! lol

Fun With Pinwheels!

Hi all!

I've been a bit busy these past few weeks and I just haven't had time to sit down and craft until today.....and I have to admit that I struggled! lol

It's my sons birthday at the end of this month and I just know if I didn't get a start on his birthday card soon....his birthday would be here in the blink of an eye and I would probably end up buying a store bought one for convenience.  I know 'store bought' are very much swear words in the world of card makers, but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do! lol

Anyhoooooooo to avoid such a situation, I set to work and just kept his card very plain and simple.  However,  I just HAD to include red because it's his favourite colour!

You can't see it in the photo but I've added texture to my base card stock using my Papertrey Ink Linen Impressions plate!  That plate is my all time fave.....LOVE IT!

I kept wanting to add a few different elements to this card, but I knew he'd love it just the way it was.  He isn't into all the fancy schmancy kinda stuff and while I thought all the additions would look rather cool.....at the end of the day the card isn't for me, it's for him - so this is how it shall stay! lol

Hope you like it!
