Handmade Embellishments!

Ok, so the next challenge I took part in, was to make a handmade embellishment.  I replicated the handmade bow made by Melissa Phillips which she demonstrated in her tutorial on the website.  Just scroll down a little and you'll find it!  I had never made one before using the double ended banner dies, so it was something new and fun to try!

Here's what I came up with!

This was probably the hardest colour combination to photograph, and it really looks like nothing matches, but rest asured in real life it certainly does! lol

The base card is Very Vanilla and I've used some Stampin' Up! DSP which co-ordinates with Calypso Coral.  I found that the PTI felt I had matched the lighter coloured polka Dots perfectly, so I used that to make my bow!  I then added a bit of Baja Breeze cardstock (cause my colour wheel thing told me too!:), stamped a sentiment, added a few other little bits and it was good to go!

A REALLY simple little card featuring a cute little handmade embellisment!:)

Hope you like it!

Oh, dear Karen - I was SO excited to see your post that you updated your blog. I used to check in all the time to see how you were doing and if you had anything new but didn't have a chance this past while. Imagine my happy surprise when I saw you had updated!! Missed you around the blogosphere, my dear friend! I sent you an email a while back but maybe you never got it? Anyhow, hope you are great and sending you smiles! <3
